• Baby supplies, especially diapers (sizes 4, 5 and 6) and baby wipes

• Jeans, new or gently used, in all sizes for men and women

• Underwear for men, all sizes; bras and underwear for women, all sizes

• Mops, laundry baskets and detergent, cleaning supplies, plastic ware, etc. for 'welcome home' baskets for clients moving into their own apartments

• Large sizes of all types of clothing (for men and women, new or gently used)

• Sheets (flat and fitted for twin beds in our shelter; new or gently used)

• Bath towels for clients (new or gently used; any color that is least likely to fade)

• Pajamas for women (L, XL, XXL, XXXL)

• Toiletries for clients (shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, feminine supplies, etc.)

• Vacuum cleaners (new or gently used)

Back to School*

At any given time, about 30 children live at Water Street Rescue Mission, half of whom are school-aged. We also provide school supplies for potentially 75 preschool and kindergarteners who will enroll in WSRM's Wonder Club School this year. Other supplies will be given to urban youth through Teen Haven, our youth ministry. We greatly appreciate your support!

• Gift cards to Wal-mart or K-mart for school uniforms, sneakers, undergarments, or other necessary supplies

Teachers have specifically requested the following items:

• Black and white marble notebooks

• Boxes of tissues

• Construction paper (9x12 and 12x18, assorted colors or individual packs of separate colors)

• Hand sanitizer

• Jumbo Crayola Crayons (sets of 8)

• Plastic Pencil Boxes

• Scissors

• Two-pocket folders (plain colored with 3 hole fasteners)

• Washable ink stamp pads (assorted colors) 

• Washable Glue Sticks

Items to Auction

Do you have quality items in your home that you just don't use anymore? Items like antiques, collectibles, electronics, work out equipment, or sports/hobby equipment?

Water Street Rescue Mission's partnership with Auction Inn will allow you to convert these items into much needed dollars to help the homeless!

Getting started is easy!

1. Drop off your items at Water Street Rescue Mission's Collection Center, designating them as a donation for the online auctions.

If you have a question about what items qualify or would like to schedule a pick up for auction items, please contact Auction Inn (717) 509-6592.

2. Auction Inn will coordinate all aspects of the online auctions (from posting items online to shipping them to the highest bidder).

3. Auction Inn sends a check to Water Street Rescue Mission -- the proceeds from your donated items!
